Natural leather can be recognized by the untreated surface. BIRKENSTOCK deliberately refrains from processing graining and other characteristic features. BIRKENSTOCK uses thick leather with a thickness of 2.8 to 3.2 millimeters for the upper.
Inner sole: leather insole
The skin-friendly, flexible leather insole nestles gently against the foot and adapts to its contour. The open-pored and therefore particularly breathable surface enables a pleasant foot climate even during vigorous physical activity.
Footbed material: cork
Cork is a renewable raw material obtained from the bark layer of the cork oak. The natural product is heat-insulating and has very good damping properties.
